Summary of Dec 5th Meeting

The holiday season is already upon us, judging from the several empty seats in our meeting room, a rare occurence. We had a lively meeting nonetheless, thanks, in large part, to several first time role-takers: Vivien, in the TME role; Sergio, as Table Topics Master; Alice, as Timekeeper; and Martin, as Ah Counter.

The meeting theme was furry companions.

In the prepared speech session, Vanessa told us everything about healthy eating. Ling entertained us with a funny, but also scary, remembering of her experience having eye surgery. Eng Wah educated us on the topic of poverty in HK.

In the table topics session, Ai Ai told us about how satisfying it can be to adopt a dog from Hong Kong Dog Rescue (HKDR). Michael opined that he doesn't think HK apartments are a healthy environment in which to keep dogs. Marcus revealed that he thinks having a dog as a pet is good way to meet girls. Max, a Toastmaster visiting from Australia, informed us that the fish tank in his dentist office really helps to set patients at ease.
