Ben did a masterful job as replacement TME, on very short notice.
In her Icebreaker speech, Alice informed us that she likes to read and watch movies. She also told us that Toastmasters fills her with good feelings-- in part because there are no exams, lol. In a humourous and lively performance, Peter argued that willpower is the key to success. And Amy informed us that we need not always fear strangers; they can sometimes be kind and helpful.
In the table topics session, Philip showed he knows how to tell a tall tale. He fooled several in the audience with his story about just arriving back from the U.S., where he led the Occupy Wall Street movement.
Thanks to Claire Lo, a travelling Toasmaster from New York, for taking on the role of General Evaluator. We enjoyed sharing with her at dinner after the meeting.
Award winners on the night were:
Best Prepared Speech Speaker: Amy
Best Table Topic Speaker: Alan
Best Evaluator: Rita
We also gave (long overdue) recognition to some club members for their recent Toastmaster Education Program achievements:
Rita - CL
Ben - CC and AS1
Joanne - CC
| From 20111121 - HKTMC - Tall Tales |
