The joint meeting with Oasis went smoothly and it was great to see that quite a number of our club's diehard members showed up at the meeting. With the sizzling summer lingering on, the meeting theme Summer Romance got all the Toastmasters reminiscing and fantasizing their own romance.
The Oasis Toastmasters meeting started with a Summer Game, certainly a nice diversion from our usual meeting. It really got the participants all warmed up for the evening.
This was followed by the Table Topic Session. Only after that did we have the Prepared Speech session.
After a long absence from our club due to her other committments, Joanne Chuk returned to deliver a Project 9 Speech. This means we may have another CC in the club this year. Keep it up Joanne. The title of the speech "Your Style or Mine" took us down the path of the different learning styles and we were reminded that we each have our own styles and therefore need to recognise others learning style so as to have harmony to learn together.
Andrew Yeung kept steaming along with his Project 3 of the Advanced Manual for ACS (Advance Communicator Silver). With his "Left and Right is Black and White", he got us in stitches and perhaps confused a little too as to whether the flush water goes down clock wise or anti-clock wise in the northern or southern hemisphere or whether when we jump we go up or down first? Confused? You bet.
