Family, friends, works, sports, foods and entertainments etc. are elements of life enrichment suggested by some people. So, what are yours? In our regular meeting on 6 Feb 12, the venue was enriched by our members’ “elements”.
In the Prepared Speech Session, Sandy Chan, our Ice Breaker and the Best Prepared Speech Speaker in the evening, shared her life from living in a “retirement town”, where there were short buildings only, people travelled by bikes or on foot and neighbors lived in “the Kiwi Culture”, in New Zealand to working in Hong Kong. In the second prepared speech, Alice Wong continued our South-Korea trip we enjoyed in her speech last time. Alice introduced how DdaeMiLi, a style of body scrub in the country, brought her the skin as smooth as baby’s in the process without privacy to the audience humorously in her CC Project 3. Vanessa Lau gave us advice on the ways to relax amid the speedy atmosphere in Hong Kong in her CC Project 5.
In the Table Topic Session, Steven Wong, the Best Table Topic Speaker in the meeting, suggested some habits to enrich life, Martin Wong told us about his method of enriching life through learning from friends and Paul Wong recommended us to absorb the wisdom of our previous generations, review lessons learnt in history and read inspirational books in life enrichment.
In the Evaluation Session, Andrew Yeung, the Best Evaluator at the night, taught us how to be a better “salesman” and handle our voice when we deliver a speech.
Toastmastering is definitely one of the elements in my life enrichment and the most delighted element for me is that our members are improving owing to other members’ sharing and the club’s support. Let’s enrich our life by enriching others’ life.
