After nearly a month of break from previous meeting, we step into the new calendar year.
With new executive committee, we have new thoughts and action plan.
Among all the changes, we have some visible new ideas. For example, we have moved the registration table back into the meeting room. So that no one will be left alone outside.
As usual, we have a good mix of speeches from both new members and experienced toastmasters. Melinda shared with us her hiking experience and tips. It reminded me about my distant Hiking experience. We should better organize some hiking activities together and remember to bring our hat, map and suitable hiking clothes.
Sandy demonstrated some good points as a motivating managers such as developing the talent of the members, Do-It-Yourself attitude and Reward for the efforts. Even though it is a project taken from Competent Communication (CC) speech 3, it is more than a CC 3 speech. Sandy learn a lot by serving her term as club president. It is an amazing change for devoted members to learn.
It is a joyful moment to watch the innovative and dynamic speeches from Sergio. How can you relate Facebook login to the 'Snowden Gate' seamlessly? That is the magic from Sergio. We may not always have time to prepare for a speech, however, we still learns a lot from our friend's speech. We look for Sergio's CC 10 speech.
Last but certainly not the least, Ai Ai demonstrated with us a Malaysian version of 'Cinderella'. "It was caught, killed and cooked", we may need "Parental Guidance" for the Folk Tale; Just kidding. The speech was well crafted and presented. That's why she won our Best speaker of the night.
When I was conducting the member's survey, a member told me. "We have the good tradition in our club, what we have to do is to keep it up and maintain our standard". The table topic must be one of our good tradition and both our members and guests participated a lot with facilitation from Alice Wong.
With all the good traditions, no wonder our 'ex-member' will return one day. We meet up with our old friends, like Tina Wong and Alex Chung. Just come back and enjoy our meetings together~!
