Joint Meeting – Halloween Special (28th October 2013)

Oasis Toastmasters and Hong Kong Toastmasters Club had a joint meeting on 28th Oct 2013. The theme was Halloween. This turned out to be a very special and festive meeting. The excitement of the joint meeting with an added excitement of a funky theme could be felt weeks before the meeting. Alan and Ben from HKTMC and Leo and Kevin from Oasis Toastmasters club did perfect planning to make this meeting the great success that it was. The Venue looked cheery and peppy with the Halloween decorations. Most of the members walked in with Halloween costumes and accessories which created an upbeat mood. There was laughter flowing and jokes being shared. The flow of the meeting was as fabulous as the beginning. The highlight of the meeting were the three speeches. Two of speeches were CC#1 speeches and yet both were par excellence. The speakers were Priya Gururaj (Oasis) and Manoj Chugani (HKTMC). The third speech was a humourous speech by Emily Tung (Oasis) which had the audience rolling with laughter. The Ghost Story Telling competition in the table topics session was another high spot of this meeting. The speakers were able to spook the audience with their interesting stories. One could actually feel the chill go down everybody’s spine as the speakers shared their eerie stories. The Halloween games, catwalk, photo taking session, spooky makeup and masks were some other high points of the meeting. To continue the festive mood I would like you to say the following Halloween tongue twisters thrice: “Which witch wished which wicked wish?” “Professional Pumpkin Pickers are prone to pick the plumpest pumpkins.” Aparna Sachar
