Men and Women - Icing on the cake (7th October 2013)

The Executive Committee of our club has taken it upon themselves to enhance the experience of every meeting by adding some icing on the cake. The theme of ‘Men and Women’ provided an excellent opportunity to deliver a taste of this enhancement to the members. Members were asked to wear one or two accessories or clothing items of the opposite gender. This added a fun element to the meeting. I invited some of the best dressed people on the stage. They did a ramp walk before they stood on the stage facing the audience. This generated camera clicks and claps from the audience. Some members were completely in tune with the theme. The red hairband that Marco wore, won him a lot of applause and it also showed his sportsmanship and enthusiasm towards his club and  demonstrated his regard  for  the opposite gender.  Ann Lee wore a paper moustache that made her look very endearing and also reflected the commitment, dedication and regard that she has for the club. Sergio Aguirre also looked endearing when he walked on the stage with a stole and a ladies handbag. Even though he had not found time to follow the theme, he procured these two items from the lady members and showed his support to the theme.  Stole and scarves were the most used accessories by men and ties were the most common accessory used by women. The speeches and table topic session flowed smoothly with Ai Ai Ong at the helm as the Toastmaster of the evening. The evaluations were a delight with experienced members evaluating.
